I
finally had may chance to attend my 3rd Zomato Foodies meetup at 22 March 2015.
This time it took place in Fiddleheads which was located in Street Gallery in
Pondok Indah Mall, South Jakarta. The restaurant itself is a casual dining with
choices of western, asian, arabian, and Indonesian menu.
“How
is the place?”
In
my opinion, the place is artsy and classy. Since they has a lot of giant
paintings and wooden-themed interior. The seatings is strict only for indoor
usage, combined with several TVs and projectors which is good for live football
match event (I wonder how it would be in Fiddleheads, I might drop by sometimes
if being invited).
From
the table itself, they gave such a nice decoration such as a little plant, a
paper table cloth, and cutlery. The chair was comfy enough for me to sit for
hours and having chat while eating during the event.
Thus,
in the back side of Fiddleheads I found a “hidden” place which consist of only
3 chairs and a dim light, I was curious and I guess how amazing this place
would be at night. I think its awesome.
“When
did you go there?”
I
was joining my Zomato Foodies Meetup at brunch session at 22 March 2015. A lot
of my friends was attending the event, I got a chance to met the owner and the
chef since the explain about the food that was served.
“How
was the service?”
Based
on my experience, I would likely to give a 5 star for the service. Fiddleheads
crew are very polite and kind to their customer. I always asked them about the
menu so many times, and asked them to take some pictures too. Usually, some
restaurant crew aren’t patient enough if some people asked them to take a
picture which made a “blur” picture, luckily it didn’t happened to me while I
visited Fiddleheads, their waiters are trained well.
“What
did you order?”
Basically,
it was a menu set given by Fiddleheads, such a wide selection of origin. They
are :
[Appetizer]
- Grill Chicken Salad
Basically nothing special about this menu since it
consist of ordinary ingredients of salad. The main part is about the Grill
chicken itself which is very tender and delicious. The dressing is also
important and they use Asian dressing for the salad.
I liked this salad because they use baby tomatoes
and some small piece of bread. I think it’s delicious yet healthy.
[Indonesian]
- Mie Aceh
A modern concept of creating the traditional Mie
Aceh. The portion is quite small, which kept the balance of the noodle and the
sauce. They also put a fried shrimp above the noodle so it was looked as the
shrimp was floating on the sauce. Such a nice presentation.
The main color of Mie aceh is red due to the sauce
which was using some of traditional spices such as tomato, shallot, garlic,
onion, etc. Mie Aceh is completed using emping to amplify the Indonesian taste.
- Nasi Seafood Jimbaran
First of all, I thought it was just a one-based
ingredient dish. But actually, it was consist of several seafood such as Baby
Squid, Prawn, and Red Snapper fillet. It was mixed together and topped with
Sambal Matah. Nasi Seafood Jimbaran also perfectly matched with warm steamed
rice and lalapan.
- Nasi Kebuli Mutton
Suddenly, a dish came from nowhere in the middle of
chat. The owner suddnely add Nasi Kebuli Mutton to our menu set because one my
friend was curious about the arabian dishes in Fiddleheads (Luckily...). Nasi Kebuli
Mutton was consist of arabian rice which was cooked using raisin and several
other arabian spices. The main part is the lamb, it was very soft and tender.
- Seafood Soondobu Jjigae
This jjigae is more like a soup for me, a soup which
consist of Korean Kimchi, Tahu, and Shrimp. It was cooked using korean spices
which gave a soury flavour to the Jjigae. The kimchi was a bit too much for me,
so everytime I took a bite it was only the kimchi.
[Dessert]
- Banoffee
Last but not least, a delicious dessert was served.
Based on the taste, it was consist of Banana and Coffee so it was called “Banoffee”.
This is the greatest among all food that was served, it was very soft and
tasty. Inside of Banoffee you can taste the banana which is matched with full
cream milk and regal. Heavenly taste!
“So, The Conclusion is?”
Wow, I really enjoyed my Zomato Foodie Meetup at
Fiddleheads. But I have some opinion about the menu, in my opinion the variety
is too wide. In some case, it can make the customer to be confused without the
expert assistance to choose (chef/waiter). But it’s not a problem for me
actually.
Thank you to Zomato and Fiddleheads crew, I’m really
glad to be the part of this meetup and have a chance to enjoy such a wonderful
dishes and moment.
